“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” II Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
I find God’s comfort and peace in His beautiful creation. He calms my heart.
There is a lot of stress and bad news these days about the Corona virus. It is making a great many people in our country and around the world very sick, so sick that some people don’t survive. Talk with your parents. Sometimes it helps us if we can share our fears and feelings.
Also, the Bible promises us that our God is the Father of compassion and comfort. God wants us to come to Him. God and Jesus love you and feel your fears and troubles. They want to comfort you, take away your fears and give you peace and encouragement.
Close your eyes for just a minute. Imagine you are laying back on your bed with piles of soft pillows and stuffed animals. You are hugging your favorite stuffed animal. Are you smiling? Do you feel relaxed and safe? Is it peaceful and comfortable?
God can help us to feel this way even when we are afraid or worried. We can bring it all to God and trust God to take care of us. We can feel safe and relaxed because God comforts us.
Come talk to God about your worries and your fears.
Overpower them with God’s strength and loving care.
Make room in your heart for God’s comfort and peace.
Focus on God and your fears and worries decrease.
Offer God’s comfort to someone who yearns for His graces.
Read the Bible, God’s word, and discover promises and praises.
Trust God and thank Him for His comfort that amazes.
This week think of a way that you can share God’s comfort with someone else and help them to feel better. Can you send a card or letter? Can you give a hug? Can you drive by your friend’s house and wave? Can you draw a beautiful picture? Can you send a thank you note to a nurse or doctor? How will you share God’s comfort?
Blessings as we receive God’s comfort and pass His comfort on to others!
