Jesus Loves Me Every Day!

“that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV

Clouds in Valleys

The clouds settling into the valleys on a cool morning.

In this verse, the Apostle Paul was writing a letter to the early Christian church in Ephesus. He encourages everyone in the church to understand that God and Jesus love them. He tells them, and he is also telling us today, that we are all to be “rooted and grounded” in the love of Jesus. We are to be strong, like a tall tree that has its roots deep in the ground and stands firm against storms and wind.

Paul also tells us just how much Jesus loves us; wide and long and deep and high. What is the widest thing you can think of? Jesus’ love is wider! What is the longest thing you can think of? Jesus’ love is longer! What is the deepest thing you can think of? You guessed it; Jesus’ love is deeper! What is the highest thing you can think of? Yup; Jesus’ love is higher!

We may not be able to understand just how much Jesus loves us. But knowing that Jesus loves us and that He lives in our hearts through our faith, means that we can be filled with all the good things that God can give us, like the fruits of the Spirit. (Remember when we talked about them all at the beginning of the year? Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.)

Jesus Loves Me Every Day

When I’m laughing, Jesus laughs with me.

When I’m afraid, Jesus comforts me.

When I’m lonely, Jesus is with me.

When I’m happy, Jesus smiles with me.

When I’m sad, Jesus shines love on me.

When I’m singing, Jesus hums with me.

When I’m upset, Jesus calms me.

This week try to draw a picture that shows how wide and long and deep and high Jesus’ love is. Share it with your parents or your friends so everyone can know how much Jesus loves them.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Blessings as you discover Jesus and His immeasurable (Jesus’ love is so big no one can measure it!) love for you!
