God Can Refresh Us!

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19 NKJV

Pond

My favorite place to feel refreshed in God’s presence, my green pastures and still water!

Refresh means to be strengthened, to have new energy, to be renewed. When you wake up in the morning after you have slept all night and you yawn and stretch and breathe in a big gulp of morning air, you feel refreshed! You feel renewed after you are rested. You have new strength and energy for the day. Your body feels ready to go and you roll out of bed to start the day with a smile.

God can refresh our spirits just like rest and food and drink can refresh our bodies. We can be refreshed by doing things with and for God.

Refresh Me, God!

Come with me, God, as I look for You in Your Word.

I follow You because You, Lord are my shepherd.                            Psalms 23:1-2

You give me green pastures and still waters for rest.

You restore my soul and I feel so blessed!

God, I will wait on You to renew my strength.

I will feel like a soaring eagle, wings spread to length.                      Isaiah 40:31

You will help me to run and not feel tired or weary.

You will walk with me so that I will be strong and cheery!

God, every good and wonderful thing is from You above.

They come from You, the Father of lights, with perfect love.             James 1:17

You never change or turn away or hide from my face.

You refresh my spirit with Your blessings and gift of grace.

This week rest in God’s presence, imagine the green pastures and still waters or His perfect gifts and grace, or the strength to soar like an eagle. Feel His love for you and be refreshed in your spirit, your soul.

Blessings and refreshings!
