“One thing I have desired of the Lord, That I will seek; That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.” Psalms 27:4
I love to be outside in God’s creation! I can “behold His beauty” in His wonderful created, natural world. The whole world is God’s “temple”, His church; I feel close to God when I am in His creation. There is something special about being outside and being still and listening and seeing and touching God’s beautiful, creation. Let’s find the beauty of the Lord in the beauty of His creations!
The Lord is Beautiful
The Lord is beautiful and strong like a rocky mountain standing tall above the earth.
The Lord is beautiful and loving like your mother’s arms hugging and proving your worth.
The Lord is beautiful and delicate like a small flower pushing through the forest floor.
The Lord is beautiful and constant like the ocean waves breaking on the sandy shore.
The Lord is beautiful and shining like the early morning sun as it climbs in the sky.
The Lord is beautiful and gentle like the soft breeze sifting through the trees with a sigh.
The Lord is beautiful and generous like a gurgling spring that never stops flowing.
The Lord is beautiful and everywhere like the air we breathe without even knowing.
This week, go on a scavenger hunt outdoors and see if you can find the beauty of the Lord in the beauty of His creation. Is God’s beauty in your backyard? At the park? At the soccer field? At your school? Then, draw a picture of where you found the beauty of the Lord.
Afterwards, ask your parents to share your picture by email or Facebook Messenger so that everyone can discover the beauty of the Lord.
Traveler and RE love to be outside in God’s beautiful creation, too!!
*Note to Parents: I apologize profusely. I had no idea that wordpress.com would not pass onto me any pictures in a reply or comment to the blog. I am sorry if you tried to post something your children had done and got no response or never saw it on the Kids Gallery page. Please, if you would like to send your children’s work, send it by email to peggystroudwrites@gmail.com or send it through Facebook Messenger. Again, I apologize, and I thank you for your support.
