“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
God’s truth that He created all things, God’s hope, flowers from a Mountain Laurel!
People use the word “hope” all the time. I hope you have a good day. I hope you do well in school. I hope you get to come to my sleepover. I hope I get a puppy for my birthday. I hope I get to go to Disney World. I hope…for whatever. This is almost like saying I wish for this or that to happen for you.
But the hope we have in God is special because God’s word and God’s promises are always true. In the Bible verse above it tells us that God thinks about each one of us. He wants good things for us. He has a plan for our future. He wants us to have hope. The hope we have in God isn’t just a wish or a want; we believe that everything God tells us is true and will happen and that is why we have hope.
God created the heavens and the earth. Jesus sits at God’s right hand in heaven. Part of God’s truth and our joy and hope is that one day we will be in heaven, too, because God’s word has told us so. One of my favorite songs is “Jesus Loves Me” because it tells me that Jesus loves me, and “the Bible tells me so”. It tells me God’s truth so I can have the hope that because Jesus loves me He will hear me when I pray and care for me.
God’s Truth and Hope
The Bible is where I can find all the truths about God.
Reading about God’s forever love leaves me totally awed!
Understanding Jesus loves me and died for me is the key.
Thank you, Jesus, for being near and hearing my plea.
Heaven is home to God and Jesus, and one day, me!
Having Jesus as my friend gives me hope and worth.
Outside in God’s creation, I feel hope and love for the earth.
Plans that God has for my life, give hope and peace.
Everlasting life in heaven with God and Jesus is hope without cease!
This week think about one hope you have because of God’s truth in the Bible. It could be the hope of going to heaven one day, or the hope that Jesus is with you and watches over you, or even the hope that you will do a special job in the future.
Draw a picture or write a sentence about your hope in God. If you really want a challenge, try to write your own poem about God’s truth and hope using your name for each sentence beginning. Afterwards, ask your parents to post your work as a reply to this blog so that you can help others to understand God’s hope.
Traveler and RE want to see your hope on the Kids Gallery page!
