Rejoice

“This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”   Psalms 118:24 NKJV

Rejoice #7

Rejoice means to be joyful or very happy or super glad! When we rejoice, we might dance, or sing, or jump, or yell.  When was the last time you were so happy that you rejoiced? When your team won a game, when you finally did a perfect somersault, when your family went on a special trip, when your baby brother smiled at you the first time, when your mom and dad took you someplace special?

God wants us to rejoice in each day that he has created for us. A sunrise is my favorite time of the day! We get to say thank you to God and rejoice in the beautiful day He has made for us. We are so happy that God has created the sun to shine, the moon to glow and the whole earth for us. We can rejoice in his creation!

The sun rises and bold colors appear,

Yellows, oranges, and purples draw me near.

“Thank You, God,” I say in a small, still voice,

“For the light of day and time to rejoice!”

The day awakens, the birds are singing,

Praises to God, Earth’s creatures are bringing!

Rejoice for the dawning of this new day,

As flowers dance and tall oak trees sway!

My heart is filled with wonder and delight,

As God starts my day with a scene so bright!

Find something in God’s beautiful created world this week that makes you feel like rejoicing. You can draw a picture of what made you rejoice or you can draw a picture of you rejoicing!

Afterwards, ask your parents to share your picture of something to rejoice about or of you rejoicing as a reply to this blog so that others can rejoice, too!
