“Listen, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5 NLT
“For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.” Deuteronomy 7:6 NLT
“And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the LORD you God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul.” Deuteronomy 10:12 NLT

As you have probably deduced, I am reading in the Old Testament this week, Deuteronomy. In several chapters, Moses reminds the people of Israel that the LORD wants their love. Because God loves them, He wants a loving relationship with them.
God also wants that same relationship with each one of us! God loves us with an everlasting love and desires that we love Him with all of our heart, all of our soul, and all of our strength.
We say we love God, but what can we do to show that we love God?
We can spend time with God in prayer and the study of His Word.
We can praise and sing songs of worship and thank Him for all He does and has done in our lives.
We can trust Him and obey his commandments and His guidance in our lives.
We can show His love to others through our kindness, service, and sharing salvation.
We can fulfill His purpose for us in our daily lives and follow His path for us.
We love you, LORD our God!
Jesus confirms what God requires of us in Mark 12:29-31. Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: “Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.”
This week let’s all give to our God our gifts of prayer, time spent in His word, praise, worship, trust, obedience, and our service, kindness, testimony, and our purpose He has given to us.
I thank God for each of you, and I thank you for joining me this week as we confess and demonstrate our love for our Lord God and His Son, Jesus, our Savior.
Blessings as we embrace the love of the LORD and show our love for Him!
