For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NLT

Our God created the whole world and everything in it, including us! In the Old Testament part of the Bible, God gave His people laws to live by like the 10 commandments. Rules that helped them and us know how to please God and live good lives. When we disobey those rules, it is called a sin. Sin is not pleasing to God because He is holy. But know that we have all sinned; you, me, your mom and dad, every human.
Our verse for today tells us that God loves each of us so much that He made a plan so that we could be “saved” from our sins and be pleasing to Him and become His children. God sent His Son Jesus to earth as a human, just like us, but Jesus never sinned. Jesus chose to come and die on the cross for all of us, He took our punishment for sin. And because Jesus did that, we can be forgiven and our sins forgotten and become pleasing to God, be right with God.
So, how can we be “saved?” Our verse tells us, “everyone who believes in him, (Jesus, God’s Son) will not perish but have eternal life.”
When we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is God’s Son, that He lived a holy, sinless life, that He died on a cross to save us, and that God raised Him from the dead, we are saved. Saved and made right with God by our faith in God and Jesus.
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Romans 5:1
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him form the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is openly declaring your faith that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” Romans 10:13, Acts 2:21
This week talk with your parents about being saved. Ask questions. Talk about your faith, what you believe, what eternal life means, read your Bible, and pray, talk to God together. Remember how much God and Jesus love you!
Blessings and believing, joy and love!
