Wonders!

And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. Luke 1:30-32a ESV

And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7 ESV

The wonder of a beautiful colorful sunrise that God offers to us each day!

Some of the Wonders of Jesus Birth:

The angel Gabriel was sent by God to Mary to tell her the news that she would have a son, who would be the Son of God.

Mary accepted her role and said she was “a servant of the Lord; and let it be according to your word.”

Not only was Mary pregnant, but so was her cousin Elizabeth with John the Baptist.

Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, blessed Mary because she believed all that Gabriel had said.

Mary sings a song of praise to God, saying that her “soul magnifies the Lord” and that she “rejoices in God my Savior.”

That Jesus, the Son of God, our Savior would be born in a humble stable with only the animals as witnesses.

Some of the Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Birth:

From Isaiah 7:14 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

From Micah 5:2 “But you, O Bethlehem…from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

From Numbers 24:17 “A star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter (king) shall rise out of Israel. (The star that led the Magi.)

This week as we continue our waiting, let’s take time to treasure the wonders of our God and the wonderful gift of His Son.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we rediscover the wonders of the glorious birth of Jesus.

Blessings and wonders in this beautiful Christmas season!
