I’m Praying For You!

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. 1 Timothy 2:1 ESV

I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers. Philemon 1:4 ESV

David wrote this Psalm, he tells us that God hears and accepts our prayers.

Our two verses this week were both written by Paul in letters to two of his helpers in spreading the good news, Timothy and Philemon. Paul urges them, and us, to pray to God for ourselves and for others. A supplication is when we come to God for something we need or want. An intercession is when we pray to God for others and what they need. And Paul tells us that we should also thank God for what He has done for us already.

This week, I would like to pray for each and every one of you!

I pray that you…

that you believe in God and Jesus and are saved,

that you know just how much God loves you,

that you understand you are also God’s child,

that you find truth in His Word,

that you discover forgiveness in God’s grace,

that you are led by His Spirit,

that you are patient for God’s timing,

that you gain confidence in His power,

that you accept peace in God’s presence,

that you are bold in His purpose for you,

that you find comfort and healing in God’s presence,

that you get strength and comfort in life, and

that you carry the joy of the Lord for others to see and believe.

This week talk with your parents about following Paul’s advice and praying for others. Who can you pray for? And don’t forget that praying is simply talking to God, and you can talk to God any time you want!

Blessings and joy as you pray to God for yourself and others!
