So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1: 27 ESV
And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. Genesis 1:31 ESV
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13 ESV

When my kids were young, we went to a pottery place to make a gift for friends of ours. They chose a fish platter that was a large fish with a smiling face and lots of scales. To make it uniquely special they dipped a fingertip into a color and touched their finger to a scale. All the colorful scales were their fingerprints!
God’s fingerprints, His uniqueness, power, and beauty, are seen in the wonderful world He created, from the massive skies and abundant seas to the stars and planets. God created the amazing details of the mountains and plains, various plants and animals, and the birds and the sea creatures.
God created the sun to shine, and the moon to reflect light, and the stars to guide. God designed the tiger’s stripes, the elephant’s trunk, the cat’s silent walk, and the dog’s warning bark. He gave pasture to the cattle and acorns to the squirrel, bamboo to the panda and flowers to the hummingbird and bee.
God created each human in His own image with character traits, gifts, abilities, and emotions. All of God’s creations bear His fingerprints! Including every human.
Each person is created by God! And no two people have the exact same fingerprints, not even identical twins. Each one of us is a unique creation formed by God with specific talents, abilities, temperaments, and skills! We have each been created for a purpose, a work, and a life that delights in and testifies to our amazing Creator.
Are we leaving our “fingerprints” on the things we are “creating”, the people we interact with, and the world around us?
This week let’s all take time to find God the Creator in His amazing creation. Where do you find His fingerprints in the beauty and power of creation? What inspires awe and wonder? What encourages you to praise God as you explore His wonderful creation?
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me as we discover God’s “fingerprints,” power, beauty, and sovereignty in His amazing creation.
Blessings and awe, wonder and joy as we discover God’s fingerprints in His creation!
