He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:3 ESV
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is in the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 ESV

Our verses for today talk about trees that are planted near a stream or creek with flowing water. Trees need sunlight, air, and water to grow. Even when it is hot and there is no rain, trees that grow near water can still grow well.
Both our verses talk about how a person can be like a tree that grows near a stream. A person who trusts in the Lord and lives and grows close to the Lord is like a tree that lives and grows close to a stream. The tree will always be able to get water through its roots that are at the stream.
But how can a person live close to the Lord?
By believing in Jesus and all that He has done to save us.
By reading the Bible with your mom or dad and learning your favorite verses.
By praying (talking) to God and Jesus.
By being thankful for all that God and Jesus have done in your life.
By loving and helping others like Jesus would.
By asking for forgiveness when you know youāve done something wrong.
By giving forgiveness to others who have wronged you.
By attending Sunday school and church with your family to learn more about growing with the Lord.
These are just some ways you can grow close to the Lord. Talk with your parents and decide to try one or two of these ways to grow with the Lord this week.
As you grow closer to God and Jesus, you will grow strong like a tree in your faith. You will not fear troubles when they come because you trust God and Jesus to take care of you and help you.
Blessings and strength as you grow with the Lord!
