Wherever You Are…So Is God!

…even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. Psalms 139:10 ESV

…even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is light with you. Psalm 139:12 ESV

High on a mountain top or low in a valley, God is with us, helping and caring for us.

All of our verses today were written by King David in the Psalms. In Psalm 139 David is thinking about all the wonders of God. He says that God knows him, when he sits and when he gets up, what he is thinking, and even what he will say before he says it!

Then David wonders where he could go that God would not be there. But David soon realizes that wherever he goes, God is there with him. God is in the morning sunrise, in the deepest parts of the sea, and even in the darkness.

David says that even before he was born, God “knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” David praises God that he is “fearfully and wonderfully madePsalm 139:13,14

And just like David, God is with you! He loves you and cares for you, He knows you and created you to be the amazing person that you are!

That doesn’t mean that we will never have troubles or difficult times or never be sad or lonely. But now we know and trust like David that God is with us through everything! And we can talk to Him whenever we want. We can ask God to give us the words to speak, the strength to get through an illness or a tough situation. We can ask that God be with us as we start new things or guide us with a choice we have to make.

Talk with your parents this week. Ask them to share with you some ways that God has been with them in difficult times and the good times, too! God shares our happy times and our sad times, our hard times and our easy times. Just remember, wherever you are…so is God!

Blessings, strength and power knowing that God is with you wherever you are!

  1. Yes, God is with us everywhere Peggy. He also has our lives written in his books. (Psalm 139:16 AMPC )
“Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.”
