Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:1,3 ESV
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:4-5 ESV

Do you have faith, trust that God created the whole world?
Faith can be defined as complete trust and confidence in someone or something that continues even when there is doubt, trusting even without proof. A simple example; do you have faith that when you jump onto your bed, it will hold you? Yes! Also, you have faith in your parents, that they will love and take care of you and do what is best for you.
Both of our verses today talk about our faith in God and Jesus. It might be a bit harder to have faith in God because we can’t see Him. But we have God’s words in the Bible and His promises that He loves and cares for us. And we trust, have faith, that He will keep His promises to us.
Here are some of God’s promises to strengthen your faith –
- God will always love you! Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
- God will always be with you! Hebrews 13:5 “…I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- God will give you comfort! Isaiah 49:13 “…For the LORD has comforted his people.”
- God will strengthen and help you! Isaiah 41:10 “…I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you…”
- God will forgive your sins! 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins…”
- God works all things for your good! Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good…”
- God will deliver you from your troubles! Psalm 34:17 “When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them our of all their troubles.”
- God will give you rest when you are sad and tired. Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
- God will listen when you pray! 1 John 5:15 “And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests we have asked of him.”
- God will save you and give you life forever when you believe in Jesus! Romans 10:9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
This week talk with your parents about all these promises and your faith to trust God and Jesus. See if together you can find some other promises. What is your favorite promise?
God gives us love and mercy and forgiveness and we give back to God our faith in Him!
Blessings and love as you strengthen your faith in God and Jesus!
This is a blessing. I read this on a Sunday here just as we are about to have our Sunday church service.

tye last couple months, I’ve been studying the anatomy of faith. And one of the things I keep going back to is the story of Elijah. The way he is introduced in the holy record says an illogical faith propelled him to declare that it won’t rain for 3 1/2 years. Then he relies on the favor of God for three and a half years, being fed by ravens, sojourning with the widow, then Mt. Carmel.
I kept asking myself which took greater faith? Stepping into the courts of the king Ahab, or Mt Carmel? Hebrew highlights his prayer of faith that it won’t rain. But then I questioned “my faith”… What’s possible with my faith?
And the words says, “according to your faith”… Some of the examples listed in the gospels paint a picture of giant faith, timid faith,.. the consistent thing was that God responded to faith. Even if it was little faith.
i loved this post, Peggy. 🙏
im sorry it took me so long to pop round..I’ve been in the trenches at work. ☺️🤗 Happy Thanksgiving my dear friend. 🙏

Thank you, Nigel, for your support and comments! I appreciate your insights. I think we all try to assess our own faith. Do I have the faith of the woman with the issue of blood to just touch the garment of Jesus? I sometimes feel more like the father who asked Jesus to “help my unbelief.”

I think that is, or should be, everyone’s cry.. For the moment we think we have unshakable faith, the enemy will remind us, that you ain’t got it.
