Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

Our verse today comes from a letter that Paul wrote to the church at Philippi. Paul is giving them, and all of us, some good advice on being anxious. Anxious means to be worried or nervous or afraid of something that might happen. For example, do you get worried or nervous when you have to take a test or turn in a project at school? Are you worried you won’t do well?
Paul’s advice is don’t worry or be anxious. Because we don’t have to worry alone. We can take all our worries to God in prayer. We can share all that is worrying us with God. We can trust God to take our worries and help us make it through anything that might happen. Instead of continuing to worry and thinking about what might happen, we can give it to God.
I like to say I am laying all my worries at the feet of God. It helps me to turn it all over to God and to not continue thinking about what worries me. God’s got it now!
This week I want you to pick something that you are worried about. Talk with your parents, maybe they have some worries, too. Take time to pray, tell God all that worries you, ask Him to help you, and remember when you pray to thank God for taking your worries and for all the other ways He has already helped you.
And the most amazing thing is that when we leave our worries with God, we get His peace. It’s hard to understand but just by sharing our worries with God and leaving them with Him, we feel better, peaceful, and not worried! Peace is living without being afraid or worried, knowing that God is looking out for us. Relax and rest without your worries and with God’s peace.
Let’s follow Paul’s advice and give our worries to God.
Blessings and peace as you give your worries to God and receive His blessing of peace!
Very good reminders. We know that we need to pray but sometimes we forget and we sit around worrying for no reason. 😁

you know Peggy, I have been in some really sticky situations in my life. And I have been pulled through by the grace of God every time. You would think it gets easier to just trust and believe. Lol. But I take solace in the fact, that even after Elijah had his experience on Mt Carmel, he still fled in fear when the queen declared war on him. Lord, please help my unbelief lol.
Great post, Peggy. 🤗🙏
