Happy Mother’s Day!

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a ESV

A beautiful purple rhodedendron for you for Mother’s Day!

As this posts, I am currently with my daughter in New York celebrating Mother’s Day. When our daughter first moved to New York, my husband would go to visit on her birthday, and I would visit for Mother’s Day. She would come our way for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Covid interfered with our plans, but since then we are finally getting back on schedule.

I love these verses in 1 Corinthians. I think first of God’s love for each one of us. And because of God’s love we can love others. There is something special about a mother’s love. Moms are love. Moms love their children unconditionally. We may be put out at some of the inappropriate behaviors, but love doesn’t change, love never ends.

As moms we are caregivers, encouragers, gentle speakers, story-time readers, teachers, discipliners, playmates, listeners, chauffeurs, homework helpers and role models. I was always aware that my kids were intently watching how I reacted to things. It helped me to be a better mom and person. I’m sure every mother out there can think of several more titles that moms can have. Love to hear them!

A Prayer for Moms

I pray that the love you’ve given is not only returned, but also passed on. Love never ends! I pray that good memories outweigh and outshine the troubles. I pray that on this day, you are celebrated and cherished. Thank you, Lord for moms!

Today whether you are a mom or remembering your mom as I am, let’s say a special thanks for moms.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me today to celebrate moms.

Blessings and a Happy Mother’s Day!
