Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 ESV

I love walking in the woods with my three big dogs. They chase squirrels, sniff the ground to see what animal was there before them, chase each other if there are no squirrels, and like me, just enjoy being outside in God’s beautiful creation. Sometimes they run ahead and sometimes they fall behind, but they always come back to my side when I call them, well mostly.
When we believe in all that Jesus has done for us and we ask Him to be our Savior then He is with us always. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20b Jesus said this to his disciples, and to us! Now the question is…if Jesus is always walking with us, are we always walking with Him?
We may feel like we are walking with Him at church as we sing praise songs and study the Bible. But do we walk with Jesus at school, on the playground, playing sports, and at home? Paul tells the church at Colossae, and us, that since we have received Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are to walk with Him. Paul also explains that like a growing tree, we are to have our roots in Him and be built up, grow, in Him. We are to grow our faith as we walk with Jesus each day.
So, how do you walk with Jesus every day? The main thing is to be aware that Jesus is with you always. You can always talk to Him, say a prayer, or just say thank you when something good happens. You can ask for help when you need it. You don’t have to say anything out loud, Jesus hears your silent prayers that are in your thoughts, your pleas for help, and your thanks.
This week try walking with Jesus each day. Talk with your parents about how they walk with Jesus each day. Maybe start your day with a short prayer and thank Jesus for being with you today. Throughout the day know that He is there with you, giving you strength when you need it and blessings and protection. Offer Jesus thanks when good things happen or when your prayers are answered. Acknowledge Jesus through the day and walk with Him every day.
Blessings and joy as you walk with Jesus each day!
