Then she gave birth to her firstborn son, and she wrapped him tightly in cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. Luke 2:7 CSB
But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:10-11 CSB

Bethlehem was full of people who had come to be registered. Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem and began searching for a place to stay. But there were no rooms. They were tired and the baby would be coming soon. They needed some place, any place! The innkeeper had no rooms but offered them the stable where the animals were kept. They agreed.
Jesus, God’s Son, the Messiah, our Savior, the King of kings and the Lord of lords was born to poor parents in a stable with the animals. There was no fanfare, no celebration, no announcement to the world, and no one else around to welcome Jesus. Until…
The angel proclaimed his birth to the lowliest of men, shepherds in the fields outside of Bethlehem. They were watching over their sheep when the angel appeared in front of them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them. They were frightened. But the angel told them, Don’t be afraid, he had good news. The Savior was born in Bethlehem, the city of David, who is the Messiah!
The angel told them where to find the baby. Suddenly the sky was full of angels saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people he favors!” Luke 2:14 When the angels left, the shepherds headed into Bethlehem to find the promised Messiah. They found Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus lying in a manger. And afterwards they went and shared the good news with as many people as they could.
This week celebrate the birth of Jesus, not just with decorations and presents, but with praise and thanks to God for the gift of His Son. And then celebrate Jesus by sharing the good news of His birth with others just like the shepherds did. Talk with your parents, how can you make room for Jesus in your Christmas?
Merry Christmas!
Blessings and joy as you celebrate that Jesus is born!
