Share Your Story!

Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me. Psalms 6:16 CSB

Share your story from the mountain tops! So all the world can praise God with you!

First, I want to explain that the part of our verse that says, “all who fear God” doesn’t mean to be afraid of God, it means to respect and honor God for all He is, all He does for us, and all He has done. God is good!

Our verse for today calls others to come and listen so we can tell our stories of what God has done for us in our lives. We can encourage others and we can praise our God when we share our stories about how God has worked good in our lives.

Come and listen, and I’ll share one of my stories with you. When I was a kid, we didn’t have electronic devices and gaming systems or cell phones and Gameboys. Ok, it was a long time ago! But I loved to read books. In a book, I could be a girl detective, or fly a fighter plane, or go on a journey to Narnia, or even live on a deserted island.

I didn’t know God when I was a kid. My family didn’t go to church or Sunday School. But when I was about 9, my grandparents gave me a Bible for Christmas. They knew that I loved to read. And so, I read the Bible. Not all of it and not all at once. Some parts I didn’t understand and skipped over. Other parts were fascinating, and I realized that something was missing in my life, God and Jesus.

When I was a little older, my sister and I asked our parents if we could go to church. And even though it was just the two of us, my dad drove us to and from church on Sundays. And in that church a little later, both my sister and I gave our lives to Jesus and were baptized.

I realized that God had been working so that I would want to read the Bible my grandparents gave me. God let me feel that something was missing and got me interested in finding Him. God let my dad agree to drive us to church. And God called me to become His daughter and I was saved. God wants to know each of us. We are His beloved creations.

This week talk to your parents, think of a time that things worked out for you and your family because God was working in your lives. Maybe your mom was sick and got better or you found the perfect friend or maybe you found God, too.  Then pick someone to share your story with. Share your story and encourage others to find God for themselves. Then they can share their story with you!

Blessings and joy as you share your story and encourage others!
