All humanity will come to you, the one who hears prayer. Psalms 65:2 CSB
You answer us in righteousness, with awe-inspiring works, God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the distant seas. You establish the mountains by your power; you are robed with strength. Psalms 65: 5-6 CSB

Last week we talked about how Jesus taught us to pray to Father God. Remember ask, seek, and knock? We, also, talked some last week that God hears our prayers. This week we are continuing our discussion on prayer. Our verses this week are by King David, he wrote many of the Psalms.
Our first verse tells us that all people, humanity, will come to God because He is the “One who hears prayer.” God is not one of many, or one of two or three, but the only One. Because of what Jesus, God’s Son, did for us, dying on the cross for our sins, and raising from the dead on the third day, we can talk directly to God and Jesus in prayer.
Our second verses tell us with certainty that God not only hears our prayers, but that he answers them, too! Our God, who created the mountains, who is robed in strength, who is our salvation and our hope, answers us. I am reminded of my blog post from April of 2020, titled “God Answers Prayers.”
Our black Lab, Traveler, was diagnosed with cancer and the vet said she would probably live less than a year. We were heartbroken. We prayed, our children prayed, and friends of ours all prayed for Traveler. And God answered our prayers with His “awe-inspiring works.” The next time we took her to the vet, there was no more cancer. God healed her!
Also remember from last week, that God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we want. Not everyone I’ve prayed for has been healed, or saved, or helped the way I wanted. But God is always good. For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever; his faithfulness, through all generations. Psalms 100:5 CSB
And we trust God to know, not only what is best for us, but for those we are praying for, too. God is good and working all things for our good. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 CSB
This week talk to your parents, grandparents or friends. How has God answered prayers for them? How has God answered your prayers? Share stories of answered prayers with each other. And don’t forget to thank God for hearing your prayers and answering them.
Blessings and praise as you pray to the One who hears your prayers!
