Happy Father’s Day!

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13 ESV

My favorite Father’s Day photo, my son and his dad enjoying a day at the pond with the dogs.

Today is Father’s Day! The day we set aside to recognize and remember our fathers. No matter what we call them, dad, daddy, pop, papa, or pa, our fathers reflect God the Father’s love. Our fathers love us with an everlasting love. Fathers lead and strengthen their children and their families with love. So today, dad, sit back as we celebrate you! We love you dad! Enjoy the love.

And special thanks to every father who loves endlessly and teaches their children the ways and commands of the Lord. We all want to be like our dads (and moms).

For Father’s Day, I want to reshare some quotes about fathers. Some are funny, some serious, some heartfelt and some wonderful, just like our dads.

“A father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you grow.” – Unknown

“Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, storytellers, and singers of song.” – Unknown

“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.” – Jim Valvano

“My father didn’t tell me how to live. He lived, and let me watch him do it.” – Clarence Budington Kelland

“A father carries pictures where his money used to be.” – Steve Martin

“No man stands taller than when he stoops to help a child.” – Abraham Lincoln

“A father is the one friend upon whom we can always rely.” – Emile Gaboriau

“Some people don’t believe in heroes, but they haven’t met my dad.” – Unknown

“Daddies don’t just love their children every now and then, it’s a love without end.” – George Strait

“Lately all my friends are worried they’re turning into their fathers. I’m worried I’m not.” – Dan Zevin

“Every son’s first superhero is his father” – Tiger Schroff

“Dad: a daughter’s first love.” – Unknown

“The heart of a father is the masterpiece of nature.” – Antoine François Prévost, Manon Lescaut

“A father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.” – Unknown

“And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me as we celebrate our fathers on Father’s Day. Praying for dads and their families and asking Father God to bless all!

Blessings and endless love!

  1. Much respect to those dads who love their kids and provide a safe, nurturing home for them. I’m happy for all those who have good fathers. Not all of us do. Here’s hoping your weekend is going well, Peggy. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, my friend! 😊

    • My first teaching job was behaviorally emotionally handicapped kids. Which sadly meant that many had been abused and mistreated. It’s wrong and sad, but is the reality for so many kids. It tears my heart. My goal was to bring unconditional love and support and encouragement to every child I taught. It was amazing to see how they thrived within an environment with love and acceptance. It breaks my heart still to know that children suffer.

      • Every child you taught was fortunate to have you as a teacher, Peggy. There’s no doubt at all that your expression of love and kindness provided much-needed healing for those children. I have so much respect for you and all you’ve done and continue to do to bring light to people’s lives, my friend. 😊

  2. “Every son’s first superhero is his father” … It’s true.
Once the myth is shattered, and you see the “man” behind the mask, it can be life changing. God bless all those who had great daddies.
Never knew that was your calling Peggy. Those kids were/are blessed to have you in their lives. 🤗💜🙏
